Yogyakarta – The list of electric vehicles for sale to Indonesia is interesting considering the growing popularity of electric vehicles in the country.

The government is committed to encouraging the development of the electric vehicle (EV) industry. This commitment is reflected in the issuance of Presidential Directive No. 7 of 2022. In this directive, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked all government agencies to replace official vehicles with EVs.

According to the President’s Chief of Staff, General (Ret.) Tony Moeldoko, the issuance of this presidential directive reflects Jokowi’s commitment to implement an energy transition from fossil to new and renewable sources of energy.

“To realise the ambitious design of the energy transition, the government is first transitioning and converting conventional vehicles to electric vehicles,” VOI quoted Antara’s Moeldoko as saying.

Indonesia’s electric vehicle market
The market for electric vehicles in Indonesia is currently growing. This can be seen in the many new models entering the market. Although the choice of models is not as large as that of conventional cars, consumers already have a considerable amount of choice.

1. BMW iX

1. Hyundai Ioniq 5

This car is very popular in the country due to its unique design and sophisticated features. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is the successor to the previous generation Ioniq electric.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 offers two battery options, the standard range, which is packed with a 58 kWh battery, and the long range, which uses a 72.6 kWh battery. And the lead types are prime and signature.

This electric vehicle is powered by lithium iron phosphate batteries. The long range version has a battery capacity of 26.7 kWh / 115 V and a maximum range of 300 km. As for the standard model with a capacity of 17.3 kWh / 115 V, the maximum range is 200 km.

1. Nissan Kick electric power

This electric vehicle uses e-Power technology, an electrification system that is different from other models. In a conventional hybrid system, the wheels are driven by an electric motor and a petrol engine. However, in the e-Power system, the petrol engine is not connected to the wheels. The petrol engine is only used to charge the battery.

The Nissan Kicks e-Power is equipped with an EM57 electric motor, generator and inverter, and a 1.2-litre DOHC 12-valve three-cylinder engine. The car uses a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 95 kWH. The Nissan Kicks e-Power is priced at IDR 451 million.
