Plus, ballroom dancing is weather-independent! In Houston, where it can be extremely rainy or very hot, dancing is a perfect indoor activity. As long as you can’t run outside on those rainy Houston days, you can still come and take ballroom dancing lessons or practice.

Life is stressful, especially if you live in a big city like Houston. Many people battle Houston traffic in the mornings on their way to work or to drop off the kids at school. Also, there is always some kind of crisis at work every day. At the end of the day it is quite common to feel tired. Some people try to de-stress through unhealthy activities like drinking and overeating. We all know that those things don’t really help you relax. However, what else is there?

The correct answer to your stress problems is ballroom dancing!

The combination of movement and music makes many people feel better. The scientific reason why dance has the ability to relieve stress comes from the idea that when the body feels good, the mind does too. Any type of physical activity releases endorphins (google that), which are used to relieve stress. Endorphins are the body’s natural pain reliever to reduce stress and improve the mental perception of the world. Thus, after a good 셔츠룸 lesson, endorphins cause the body to feel calm and optimistic. Endorphins also help improve sleep quality, so you can avoid some sleepless nights due to stress after a dance lesson.

There are so many dances to learn

Don’t worry about getting bored of dancing. Ballroom dancing is not just a dance. Officially, it is made up of a “Ballroom” part with dances like Waltz, Tango, Vienasse Waltz, Foxtrot and Quickstep and a “Latin” part consisting of ChaCha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive. There are also multiple social dances that we normally teach in the studio.

Those are Two-Step, Salsa, Bacchante and Swing to name a few.

So if you really like to dance, you have more than a dozen different dances that you can learn. It takes some time, but on the other hand, you will never get bored. Each dance is quite unique and has its own music and character. And you don’t have to be an expert in all the dances to enjoy a social one. Learn a few steps here and there and you’ll be good to go dancing socially. So, if you are looking for an activity that will keep you engaged for a long time, ballroom dancing is a perfect option.
