The Mely parrot (Amazona farinosa), is one of the most important Amazon Rainforest parrots.The Mealy Parrot is found in tropical Central American forests and South American rainforests. The Mealy Parrot is most common in humid to semi-humid forests (rarely in deciduous forests) and plantations. It is either restricted to gallery forests or absent from areas dominated by dry/open habitats. The Mealy Parrot can also be called the Mealy Amazon and the Blue-crowned Mealy Parrot.

MEALY PARROT CHARACTERISTICS

Mealy parrots measure 38-40 cm tall at the peak of their heads to the tip their tails. They typically weigh between 540 and 700 grams. However, some Mealy parrots are larger.
