Triund trek is a short and easy Himalayan trek, making it a great weekend vacation for beginners. The journey begins in McleodganjThe town of Mcleodganj provides an excellent opportunity to learn about Tibetan culture. The hike leads you to monasteries, prayer flags, and a glimpse of Buddhism. At an elevation of 2880 meters, Triund offers breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar Valley on one side and Kangra Valley on the other.

Triund, the crown jewel of Dharamshala, is a huge expanse of lush pastures. The walk passes by the Bhagsu waterfall, numerous small rushing streams, and lush pine, oak, and deodar forests. The Triund Trek offers numerous stunning vistas of floating clouds, gorgeous mountains, and other natural wonders.

About McLeodGanj

The average elevation in McLeod Ganj is 2,082 meters (6,831 feet). On the Dhauladhar Range, it is located.

Dharamshala, Palampur, Kangra, Sidhbari, Tatwani, and Machhrial are also prominent towns around McLeod Ganj. Chinmaya Tapovan (a Hindu retreat center), Osho Nisarga (an Osho retreat center), and Chamunda are also neighboring spiritual attractions (a pilgrimage place for Hindus). McLeod Ganj is the starting point for the trip to Triund.

One of the best road trips for balancing calm and serenity is a McleodGanj road trip. This McleodGanj got its name from David MC Leod, erstwhile lieutenant governor of Punjab. It’s also called Lhasa, where many are Tibetans. It is the dwelling place of the Dalai Lama. From Delhi to McleodGanj there are two routes. 

2nd Route: 

Delhi – Ambala – Kharar – Ropar – Kiratpur – Anandpur Sahib – Nangal – Una – Amb – Tibbi – Mubarakpur – Bharwain – Dehra – Ranital – Kangra – Dharamshala – Mcleodganj (480 km).

Best Time to Travel:

March to June, temperature is about 22°C to 38°C. It is a good time for an avid trekker or adventure seekers to go there and enjoy their trekking and adventurous activities which will raise your adrenaline.

December to February, temperatures may reach 0°C . This time is perfect for those who love snow and for their honeymoon.

After reaching McleodGanj you can see many astonishing places there like Kalachakra temple, Bhagsu waterfall, Namgyal Monastery and Tibetian museum and so on.

Temple of Oracle or Kalachakra Temple

In 1992 this temple was built. It has a panorama of the wheel of time in native Kalachakra Mandala. You may go there for your internal peace.

Bhagsu Waterfall

 To dip in the Sizzling water to relax,  It’s the correct choice. This falls is an astonishing one having a great height with gushing waters surrounded by nature’s greenery. It’s near Bhagsunag temple where lord Shiva devotees like to go and pray. It’s the most attractive place where many travelers from around the world come and enjoy it.

Tibetan Museum

It’s a wonderful experience to go there and to know about the life of tibetans.

Namgyal Monastery

His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s official residence is this monastery, or Gompa.  It’s situated in the Tsuglagkhang complex.

Triund Trek

For trekking, first you have to be prepared with your backpack and Stay fit and fine. Only the desired trekkers are able to face the challenges to reach the destination. Even Though it’s easy to go there, maybe if you get in trouble don’t panic. Be calm and face it!!

Triund Trek at McleodGanj in Himachal Pradesh, a land of beautiful scenic views with a lot of snow coated valleys suitable for trekking.

It passes through Rakkar and Dharamkot, about 9km from McleodGanj. The trip from Mcleodganj is 9 kilometers long. Its altitude is about 2842 meters above sea level. Beginners are also able to trek here, the danger level is low. Here you can get blessings from Gallu Devi temple

This trek will be a tempting experience because of the beautiful Dhauladhar ranges of the great Himalayas. Here, the scenic views are suitable to take picturesque photos. It’s just a one day trek but you will get memorable moments. You may go there from March to November. Don’t go there during the winter season because the sizzling temperature will freeze you. You can do adventurous activities here like Paragliding. Seeing this beautiful place from an eagle’s point of view!!
