The Chinese film industry has produced some of the best actors in the world. Many of these actors have starred in major Hollywood films. These actors have achieved international fame through their roles. These actors have been the subject of countless awards, including Golden Bears at the Berlin International Film Festival and Golden Horse awards at the Cannes Film Festival.

Shen Teng

Shen Teng began his career in the stage but later turned his attention to films. In 2015, his debut film, Goodbye Mr. Loser, became a sleeper hit in China and won him a Gold Aries Award for Best Actor at the Maco International Film Festival. Soon after, his face became one of the most familiar faces on entertainment billboards in the country.

Chen Daoming

Chen Daoming is a Chinese actor. He has starred in various genres of films and television shows. His films include My 1919 (1999), Kangxi Dynasty (2001), Hero (Ying Xiong Yingxiong), King’s War (2012), and Coming Home (2014). He is one of the most prominent actors in China.

Xu Zheng

Xu Zheng is a popular Chinese actor, who has a strong list of acting credits. He started his career in children’s theatres in Shanghai and then graduated from the Shanghai Theatre Academy. From stage performances, Xu has moved on to television roles. After starring in the hit TV drama Sunny Piggy, Xu’s career skyrocketed. Liu Haoran

Liu Haoran is a talented actor who was born in the Chinese province of Henan. At the age of 11, he was admitted to the middle school branch of the Beijing Dance Academy. At an early age, he was already able to walk the streets of Beijing alone. This made him an independent man with a remarkable maturity level. Through an open casting, he caught the attention of director Chen Si Cheng, who cast him as Song Ge in his film Beijing Love Story. This performance earned him a Best New Actor nomination at the 2014 Beijing College Student Film Festival.

Tony Leung Chiu-wai

In the 1980s, he began his career by appearing in children’s shows. He was acclaimed for his comedic performances and soon was named “The Small Tiger” in TVB’s “Five Tigers” group. In the early 1990s, he was cast in Hard Boiled, a 1992 action film directed by John Woo. This was his breakthrough role and gave him international exposure. Jiang Wen is one of the most popular Chinese actors, and his roles in television dramas and movies have won him international acclaim. One of his most notable roles was in the 2007 drama, Struggle (Fen Dou Fendou), based on the popular novel by Shi Kang. He won the BQ Celebrity Score Awards for his performance.

Cecilia Chang

Cecilia Chang is one of the most popular Chinese actors. Born in Hong Kong, she studied abroad in Australia at the age of 14. Her career accelerated when she won the Best Actress prize for her role in the Hong Kong film Lost in Time. She later delved into music, releasing platinum albums from 1999 until 2005. Then, her career was interrupted when she was suspended from the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games.

Huang Xiaoming

Huang Xiaoming is a popular Chinese actor, singer, and model. He has been referred to as China’s “number one heartthrob”. His television and film roles include Xu Wenqiang in Shanghai Bund (2007) and Chen Kun in “The Patriot Yue Fei”. Huang attended the Beijing Film Academy’s Performance Institute and graduated in 2000.
