Mindset Secret to Content That Connects and Converts

Writing is a final expression of our WHY, Mindset of what we stand for, of what we want to be known for.

So we can turn the Truth inside of us into communication others can relate and resonate.

Content that converts is supported by the energy and inevitability of authentically voicing our beliefs and convictions.

To achieve that, we have to be brutally honest and transparent, with ourselves and with our readers.

To create content that connects, we need to own our vulnerability.

Instead of writing some “5 easy steps to whatever” to get clicks, I want to step into this space with you by sharing a recent business realization triggered by a domestic hiccup, and maybe inspire you to find your own expression through your content.

Some domestic hiccups this weekend triggered a giant pit in my stomach and turned it into a moment of Truth and reflection.

I went in to a downward spiral of crappiness. When my husband asked what’s wrong, I could only put my fingers on a couple of little things that were really, not a big deal.

The individual incidences probably sound like I was making a mountain out of a molehill. Drama Queen.

But this time, instead of denying it and putting up a wall, I made myself follow the thread and see where it took me.

.................................................

Is Our Nanny Abandoning Me?

We hired a new nanny who was scheduled to start in just a few days. I reached out to her via text, email and phone, and got no response for a couple of days.

I went into panic mode. what if she bails on us?

My brain served up 108 permutations of how screwed up things can get. But it’s not just about kids crawling on my head and me getting nothing done. That pit in my stomach means there is more.

This little panic dragged up a whole ton of shit, like.

People bailed on me, people I counted on showing up let me down.

abandonment, rejection, being left alone.

It’s not just physical presence either – I have always struggled with Emotional Censorship and Hygienic Relationships.

. the inability to get into the GRIT of any relationship and, just be human.

. the inability to let that pit in the stomach run its course and experience what needs to be seen and heard.

It’s not only affecting my personal relationships.

I realize I have put up an energetic wall in my business. A wall that keeps some folks I want to connect with at arm’s length.

As a highly intuitive empath, I feel everything when I talk to people. Yet, I have been afraid to let them know that I KNOW, sometimes better than they do.

I get frustrated when they are not seeing what I am seeing. I so want to scream at the top of my lungs and let it all out. Yet, it’s overstepping boundary if I am not being asked.

So I bottle up, and sulk in my own disappointment about “people.”

I admire those who can be completely transparent in their communications, and I strive to be fully vulnerable and transparent.

I know that’s the way to fully connect with those I want to serve. I know that’s how I can be supported and support partners with whom I can create synergistic relationships.

I have been honest and transparent in my communications to the degree I am comfortable with, yet I know that I’ve been holding back. The last bit of resistance I put up for the illusion of safety is holding the reign.

I long to connect, yet something in my “logical mind” put up a wall when clients, biz partners or friends get too close. I am not socially awkward, but I hit a wall when I want to get pass the “chit chat” stage.

This is a fear that runs deeper than just potential clients saying “no”, or having a guest post rejected by a “big site.”

The fear of emotional abandonment and rejection runs deeper than “no, I am not giving you money.” It is about after investing everything into a relationship only to realize I have been throwing my chips down a black hole.

Maybe I am being naive. Maybe I have to learn to stop seeing everything as “all-or-nothing.” Maybe I don’t have to put all my eggs in one basket. Maybe I am socially awkward after all.

I don’t have the answer, but at least, I am admitting it so I can work through whatever there is to experience.
