DFSK Indonesia established the PT Sokonindo Automobile joint venture in Indonesia last year to manufacture the Super Cab truck and Glory 580 5+2 passenger SUV locally.
PT Sokonindo Aubomobile’s General Manager of Marketing, Permata Islam, said that DFSK’s decision to set up a factory in Indonesia was based on the huge consumer potential of the ASEAN market, especially as it is the same right-hand drive country as Indonesia, which will make it easier to export DFSK vehicles. DFSK’s global presence will be further strengthened by exporting to Australia and beyond, as mentioned below.
The signing of the IA-CEPA (Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement) on 4 March this year is expected to be beneficial to the business relationship between Indonesia and Australia, opening up the opportunity for DFSK to formally enter Australia.
